DO YOU TAKE deposits?
All bookings with me require a NON-REFUNDABLE deposit. The amount of each deposit will be determined by what you are booking in to have tattooed, but are usually anywhere between £30-£150. This deposit can be paid via bank transfer The remainder of the price of the tattoo will need to be paid by bank transfer on the day. (For example, if your tattoo is £100 and you have sent a £30 deposit via bank transfer, you will need to pay the remaining £70, into the same account, on the day of your tattoo)
I DO NOT book anything into my diary until I have received a deposit. My bookings work on a first come first served basis, meaning If someone sends a deposit before you do for the date you had in mind, they will be booked in and you will have to find a new date and time for your session.
Prices
Prices for one hit tattoos are determined by factors such as size, placement and complexity. Before booking you will be given a quote range (e.g £80-£100) if you are happy with the price we will go ahead and get a date finalised in the diary.
Prices for ongoing work are charged at a set day rate or an hourly rate for shorter sessions.
All prices are non negotiable. If you do not like the quote I have given for the tattoo you were looking for, that’s not a problem, but I charge what I believe to be fair for my time and expertise and DO NOT “haggle” or “barter” with clients.
Designs
I do not send any designs to clients ahead of our appointments. All designs will be ready to view when you come into the studio for our session and should we need to, I always allocate time for small changes on the day. If you would like to completely change the design from what we had discussed at the time of booking, this must be done at least 1 WEEK before the date of the session, if you fail to give me enough notice or try to change the design on the day, you will forfeit your deposit and have to place a new one down to re-book.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I AM LATE TO MY APPOINTMENT?
If you are more than 20 minutes late i reserve the right to turn you away and you will forfeit your deposit. If you are going to be slightly late PLEASE CALL AHEAD and let me know.
HOW LONG IS MY DEPOSIT VALID FOR?
Deposits are valid for 6 months from the date I receive them (unless booking larger projects) If you need to reschedule your appointment, you must do so no less that 1 WEEK before the start time of your appointment. If you fail to do so you will forfeit your deposit and have to place a new one down in order to re-book. A MAXIMUM of 1 reschedule is permitted for each deposit, if you reschedule more than oncw you will forfeit your deposit.
If you are having a one-hit piece tattooed, this deposit will come off the total at the end of the session. If you are working on longer term, on going projects (e.g sleeves / back pieces / front pieces) your deposit will come off the LAST session of that project. You CANNOT use the deposit to pay for any session until the end of the project.
How SHOULD I prepare for MY tattoO?
It is important to make sure your body is prepared for your tattoo. I recommend getting a good restful sleep the night prior to your appointment, having a full breakfast on the day of your tattoo and making sure you’re well hydrated on the days leading up to your session with plenty of water. Eating fruit prior to your tattoo appointment will help your body regulate your natural sugar levels throughout the session, but please feel free to bring some sweets and fizzy drinks with you so you can top up your sugars if you need to. (We also have lollipops, refreshments and hot beverages in the studio for clients)
WHAT HAPPENS IF I HAVE SUNBURNT THE AREA IM GETTING TATTOOED?
During summer it is important to make sure you don’t burn the area of skin that you are having tattooed. If you arrive at the studio with sunburn in the area we were supposed to be tattooing you will be turned away and will forfeit your deposit.
CAN I BRING SOMEONE WITH ME TO MY APPOINTMENT?
Unless you are booked in for a group tattoo, we do not allow for friends of clients to sit in the tattooing area. If you bring someone with you the will be asked to wait in our reception area for the duration of your tattoo process.
CAN I USE NUMBING CREAM FOR MY TATTOO?
If you would like to use numbing cream for your tattoo, you must PRE ARRANGE that with myself. In some instances I am okay with clients using numbing agents but there are specific placements and circumstances I do not allow it so please make sure to ask AT THE TIME OF BOOKING. If you arrive with numbing cream on the area and have not previously discussed it with me you may be turned away meaning you will forfeit your deposit.
*Side note* if you are going to use numbing cream please only use TKTX) make sure to do a small test patch on the area AT LEAST 1 week prior to the tattoo. Numbing creams must be applied, BY YOU, at least 1 hour prior to the start time of your appointment, if you arrive at the studio without the cream being applied, but intending to use it, we will not have time within our allocated booking to allow the cream to set in and take effect and complete the tattoo, in this case you would forfeit the session and your deposit, if you are not willing to be tattooed without it. (If you need any info on how to apply your cream, please don’t hesitate to message me and I’ll be happy to explain the process) DO NOT use Ametop or Emla creams.
can i swim/ go to the gym/ go in saunas after my tattoo?
it is important to avoid soaking your tattoos in moisture before they are fully healed. swimming, baths and saunas will be detrimental to your tattoos before the skin has been given the time to repair itself.
when it comes to exercise it is important to be very mindful of your tattoo. if you knock the area or EXCESSIVELY sweat over your new tattoo, you may hinder the healing process. i personally would say wait at least a week before going back to the gym, although for blackouts/ hands/ fingers and plams i would DEFINITELY letting the COMPLETELY heal before going back.
should i put suncream on my tattoos?
when you go on holiday it is important to look after your tattoos. for most tattoos i think covering them each day with spf 30 is enough, however for blackout i believe you should always use spf 50. if you don’t sufficiently protect your tattoos with spf, you could sunburn the area and they will fade faster.
do you tattoo fingers and palms?
over the years i have found a love for tattooing the areas that a lot of artists hate. so yes im always happy to take on fingers, palms and faces. however i take these projects on at my discretion.
